This is pretty straightforward. You have two paths, and you can take either one of them. They two sides are mirror images, with the only difference being one has rocks and the other has bushes. There's a fairy spring when the two paths combine. Be careful of the statues shooting fireballs down from the cliffs, which are meant to be like Zelda 2. Or use the statue fireballs to take a tiny amount of damage, to avoid taking massive damage from a death knight.
